April 2026 - SHRM San Antonio Educational Luncheon

HRCI & SHRM recertification credit.

Hello HR Professionals! Come join fellow professionals and other SHRM San Antonio attendees at our April Educational Luncheon!  This is your opportunity to connect with fellow HR professionals and gain valuable insights to enhance your expertise.

For this April Educational Luncheon, Join Steve Hernandez as  he discusses how every organization plans for growth, but few plan well for transition. Yet the reality is simple: people move on. Leaders retire, roles evolve, and careers take unexpected turns. When organizations avoid this truth, they create uncertainty, risk, and disengagement. When they plan for it thoughtfully, they build trust.  In this one-hour session, participants will be introduced to a people-centered approach to succession planning that goes beyond replacement charts and “high-potential” lists. The session will demystify common succession planning terms and language, clarify what succession planning is and is not, and provide a clear, practical framework HR leaders and practitioners can actually use.  Participants will walk through essential tools and processes to identify critical roles, assess readiness, and develop internal talent in a way that feels transparent, fair, and aligned with the employee experience. By reframing succession planning as an act of leadership care, not a secretive exercise, this session shows how preparing for goodbye can strengthen engagement, confidence, and organizational continuity.  Attendees will leave with practical insights, shared language, and concrete actions they can begin applying immediately within their organizations
